Title Progress

This new section has been created to keep you informed of the status of Titles In Progress at Sovereign Grace Publishers. Eventually, you will be able to see the actual completed pages or chapters of the titles in typesetting, and keep abreast of each title as it progresses through production. We hope that you will find this new section beneficial and will assist in proofreading completed pages as they appear. As we don't have funds for a dedicated proofreading staff and rely solely on volunteers, we ask that you assist us in this ministry of spreading the Word of God through Christian literature and notify us of any errors found or suggestions for improvement.

Conventionally Printed Books & Bibles - No Minimum or Maximum Pages - High initial production costs in the thousands to ten thousands of dollars, minimum of 1,000 copies of title produced, lower price per copy produced providing minimum of 1,000 copies per year can be sold.

Step 6 - Title Annotation & Description Written - Used for advanced advertising annotations to bookstores and industry, as well as back cover of book. For Status of Books In This Step See Step 5.

Step 7 - Title Covers Being Designed - Cover is designed, book description is added to back cover, scanning barcode is created and added to back cover. For Status of Books In This Step See Step 5.

Step 8 - Titles At Printer In Premedia - Title is being setup for actual printing either digitally or through photography, printing plates made. For Status of Books In This Step See Step 5.

Step 9 - Titles At Printer In Proof - First unbound copy of book has been printed or produced on bluelines and is awaiting final approval before production. For Status of Books In This Step See Step 5.

Step 10 - Title Is Being Printed - Title pages are being printed on large presses usually printing signatures of 32 to 64 pages at a time. For Status of Books In This Step See Step 5.

Step 11 - Title Is Being Bound - The signatures above are being folded and collated into book form - The collated signatures are then either glued (paperbacks) or smyth sewn (stitched through the signatures) and placed into case (hardcover books). For Status of Books In This Step See Step 5.

Volume 22 - Works of Thomas Manton - Printer lost copy we sent to them, we have since obtained copy and are scanning it.

Step 3 - Titles Acquired - Copy of title or manuscript acquired and awaiting scanning, pagination or typesetting. ISBN number is assigned, estimated final retail price is established.

Step 4 - Titles In Scanning - Titles being scanned or photographed for placement into book form.

Step 5 - Titles Scanned and Being Cleaned - Poor page quality titles  require page cleaning. Good page quality pages are checked for proper page structure.

Step 6 - Titles In Pagination - Pages are put into book format, page numbers added, title pages created, table of contents built, preface and foreword created or added.

Step 7 - Title Covers Being Designed - Cover is designed, book description is added to back cover, scanning barcode is created and added to back cover.

Step 8 - Titles At Printer In Premedia - Title is being setup for actual printing

Step 9 - Titles At Printer In Proof - First copy of book has been printed and is awaiting final approval before production
